As you know, the FOA has taken a leadership position in the fiber optic industry. Our certifications, assistance in connecting our CFOTs with jobs using our online database and programs like our FTTx Summit meetings, contributions to standards activities and providing technical assistance to the industry have been very well received. We now have certified almost 30,000 CFOTs who have attended over 200 FOA-Approved schools. Maintaining The FOA as a "Low Overhead" Organization Depends On Your Help As the FOA community grows we will continually be "fine tuning" the schools program to help it run as smoothly as possible and facilitate communications with both the schools and the CFOT members. The low cost of the FOA Program is indicative of our status as a non-profit organization, but maintaining our "low overhead" organization depends on our schools to follow all the procedures carefully. We also want every instructor and administrator to sign up for our email newsletters so we can communicate via email. Sign Up Now For The FOA Email Newsletter - Check Both Lists! All FOA School Documents Are Now Downloaded From The FOA Website All new school procedures, certification tests, student applications and directions are on the FOA website in PDF format for downloading and printing by the schools. This will allow us to update them as needed and you to download the latest versions as you need them. The site is password protected, so you will be given a unique login/password to download materials as you need it. You will be contacted with a password, or you can contact us (info@thefoa.org). Log-in/Passwords You will be given a log-in and password to the FOA School site which is not to be divulged to any one except those in your organization who need to use it. The password may periodically change. You will be notified through the FOA Instructor's mail list and will need to contact the FOA for a new password. YOU MUST DOWNLOAD ALL MATERIALS FROM THE SCHOOL SECURE SITE! Secure Site For School/Instructor Downloads Who is Administrating the Certification Program in your Organization? Please be sure to give a copy of this procedure to the person processing the applications and have that person review all the procedures (assigning numbers, passing grade, taking retests, etc.)  Also, give this person our contact information and encourage them to contact our office before they send the applications if they have any questions - to avoid time-consuming errors.
