As FTTx began its rollout in 2005-7, the FOA was contacted by Version to help develop training programs for their FiOS network installers and assist in recruiting trainers and installers. FOA developed training curriculum for FTTx techs and held technical meetings in LA and New England to introduce techs and schools to FTTx technology. Participants from FTTx suppliers like Corning, ADC, etc. as well as technical and recruitment personnel from Verizon did presentations to inform everyone about what was the future of FTTx. These programs were praised for their pioneering efforts to educate the people needed to make FTTx a success. Sincw then FOA has worked with many organizations to train their techs and facilitate FTTx installations. |
